Although White Knight Chronicles came out last month in North America, the game has been available in Japan since late 2008. Because of that, the development for the sequel is quite far along. On his Twitter, Akihiro Hino, the President and CEO of Level-5, gave a status update on White Knight Chronicles 2.
He said that the development of the game is beginning ramp up. The balance and tempo for White Knight Chronicles 2 was initially a problem. However, those two elements have been improved recently. Overall, Akihiro Hino feels good about the sequel although he did admit that White Knight Chronicles 2 needs to improve upon some of the issues found in the first game.
The release date for White Knight Chronicles 2 is currently not known. You can view some screens from the upcoming Playstation 3 RPG in the slideshow below:

i don't see any inhans in graphics and it's look loike old one, i hope they change battle system and end the story
I love WKC, so much, and definitely more than FFXIII, which I am taking back to the store, it does no even feel like an FF game to me(cries)
As long as they make this game harder, I will be very happy, the battle system is perfect, please don't change it!!
FF13 tried too hard to please the newcomers imo, it's really disappointing for long-time fans like me.
I honestly enjoyed WKC much more and with some fixes, WKC2 will be uber awesome but please don't take too long to bring it over!
The first game is amazing, definetly a contender for "RPG Of The Year". I can't wait for White Knight 2, hopefully it won't take them 14 months to translate the sequel for western gamers.
im with you on ff13 it relly blew. they are trying to turn it into hack and slash game and really no customizing any more at all.....
anyhow white is awsome and as long as future series are as good as tthe first it will be the next ff cause ff is going down hill people only buying cause name and past but quickly returning them
This update is actually really significant. Notice in one of the pictures that the girl is wearing Queen's armor, which is from the first game. This means older armor will almost certainly be present in the next game, and that almost everything will probably be directly transferable.
I actually traded in my FFXIII for WKC. I love the game, every aspect is wonderful. I personally enjoy different races, so, if you could choose to be one of the exotic races from WKC 1 then you have a buyer in me. Also, at higher levels with the online game of WKC I feel it takes way too long to level up your characters. Also, in some cases its virtually impossiable to meet some requirements for certain armor/weapon construction. Perhaps, you could make it a bit easier. But all and all I thank they should have given WKC a 10.
