Apparently White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was flustered by April Ryan's direct and insistent questioning over White House social secretary Desiree Rogers and her role at the recent state dinner that was crashed by two reality-TV stars.

Ryan is the reporter for the American Urban Radio exchange.

At one point Gibbs condescendingly told her to "calm down" and "take a deep breath."

"I do this with my son and that's what happens." Gibbs added. See video, CLICK HERE.

Do you want to bet on when the apology comes?

I think Gibbs is getting too arrogant for his own britches. He wouldn't make that statement to a male reporter. It was very condescending frankly. I was personally offended and it didn't happen to me so I'm sure April must have felt bad. He owes her an apology.

april ryan needs to get serious.... this is relevant to what exactly?

Um, no, she was completely rude and pushy, no matter her gender. Also she was asking tabloid questions and wouldn't drop it. If you can't take the heat stop throwing turd biscuits.

That line of questioning in the midst of an economic collapse, raging wars, genocide, and world poverty is ridiculous. Get a job at the National Enquirer, April.

Judy you are just as clueless as April Ryan. Gibbs went easy on her, she was acting like an idiot and everyone in the room knew it except for her.

As arrogant as Gibbs is this reporter is ridiculous. Agreed with most everyone, she should stick to gossip blogs and not waster white house time on such idiocracy.

Repeatedly asking if the social secretary had 'invited herself' to the dinner was immature. She got what she deserved.

April Ryan is a correspondent for the White House....I think she needs to be reminded.

Although the question might not have sounded as "weighty" as others the point still remains that he was quite dismissive of her from start to finish. I somehow doubt that he would have been so with a male. Quite frankly even when dealing with many in the press corps whether male or female , I find Robert Gibbs to be rather glib and condescending. In addition, he is boring as hell as a press secretary. I find him as annoying as Rick Sanchez on CNN , who thank god is only on for an hour.

It was not a kind interchange, but she was trying to talk him down like a reality t.v. personality trying to talk down New York. Seriously, lady, take more than a deep breath.

I'm glad to read the comments below. Sorry Judy, but you're way off. I'm sure this will be spun as Gibbs only saying what he said "because Ryan is a black female," "that would never happen to a white man," but I agree that Ryans' line of questioning, plus her demeanor were inappropriate. Her question was pure tabloid, completely unimportant gossip. She allowed herself to be riled up and indignant when it was dismissed as such, and her ego got in the way of the press conference. What Gibbs said was condescending, and completely appropriate in that situation.

If somebody like Judy Young was offended, then Gibbs did his job. April needed to be dragged by her collar out of the White House. The White House ain't the place for TMZ or Perez Hilton type tactics. I think the only thing this shows is this Ryan troll's complete lack of respect for the Obama Administration. Can you imagine some twit doing this during the Reagan years?!? Didn't think so.

April Ryan is a j@ck@$$...how the heck did she get to be a White House correspondent with that bad attitude?

Mr. Gibbs was right on target. Ms.Ryan's behaviour was rude, immature and sophomoric. The White House is not a reality TV show to be used as fodder for the press corp. She needs to go back to journalism school.

Like virtually everyone else in the current administration, they act like professors in college (in fact many are former academics, having never held any position in the "real" world or economy) ... expecting every-one to parrot back to them whatever it takes to get an "A" in their class. Gibbs is no different... tolerating no dissent.

The sex or race of the respondent is not the issue. The only issue is whether the respondent gives the "pro-fessor" the answer" they are seeking. Nowhere can this be seen more clearly than in the health care de-bate. After the "town hall" meetings, the president was clearly appalled that the "students" didn't agree with him, so further lectures / teaching would fix this... Inconceivable that a majority simply did not agree with the professor’s position…

Gibbs’, the president’s and this entire administration’s arrogance is completely out of control.

I have no other way to put it other than to say that Robert Gibbs is a complete deuce bag, and consistent with his ways since the "Enlightened Obama " took over, is no more than a mere pimple on someones sweet behind, and for being such a small minded person and a mere drone of prince obama, has nothing better to do than criticize those who just walk right into the presidents house. If you cannot protect your own president, no doubt that you can refrain from saying purely stupid things. You cannot help y6ourself.We understand. Goodbye.

Go April! Whether the social secretary invited herself is relevant to whether she also abused that power and compromised national security to sneak in the party crashers. Hardly tabloid at all. If you want tabloid material, talk about Obama's bogus "summit" between the cop and the Harvard professor.

Both Robert Gibbs & April Ryan have been petitioned to be indicted by the FBI Jan. 27, 2010 which is on the internet at
jeshafbiindictofficialsnmedia.blogspot.com for concealing a Federal crime & the checks & balances petitioned to expose abuse of power, corruption, & hold officials accountable for the crime pursuant to Title 18, sec. 243 which is against the peace & dignity of the U.S. & is at war with Democracy.
