White House pies may have crack in them, jokes Obama (VIDEO)

President Barack Obama made a joke about crack cocaine on Monday. While at the White House for an event to celebrate LGBT Pride Month, Obama was praising Bill Yosses, the White House pastry chef who is retiring after serving the president for the past seven years, according to a USA Today report on Tuesday. The president said that Yosses has been called “The Crustmaster” for his tremendously delicious pie creations.

However, rather than simply stating an earnest compliment to Yosses, the president went further with his adornment of the top pastry chef. Obama said that he doesn’t know what Yosses does to the pies to make them so good. Obama specifically said, “I don’t know what he does, whether he puts crack in them, or…” After the crowded room laughed at Obama’s comment, First Lady Michelle Obama, who was at his side piped up quickly to say, “No he doesn’t. There is no crack in our pies.”

Obama went on to explain that Yosses’ pies became somewhat of an issue after he was first elected because the president’s cholesterol shot up after he moved into the White House in 2009. Obama said that the doctor asked him what had happened to him that the cholesterol level went so high. Obama said that he was quick to figure out that it was the pies that were the culprit in raising his cholesterol level and he confessed that to the doctor. Obama said that that he told that doctor that it was the pie that was doing the health damage. From there, asserts Obama, three was a really firm rule about consuming no pie during the week, according to NBC.

It’s not known how much the First Lady disliked the ‘praise of the pie’ talk. After all, her huge kick via her first lady’s initiative his healthy eating. Her “My Plate” and “Let’s Move” programs are all about healthy eating and exercise, especially for children throughout the United States.
