As if there weren't enough problems going on, a man has been arrested and brought into custody after what is being called the "White House firecracker" incident. WGN reported that on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, a man was arrested after throwing firecrackers over the fence at the White House.
52-year-old Alexander Sahagian has been arrested, but not charged as of yet.
Secret Service spokesman George Ogilve confirmed and reported that the suspect in custody was indeed Sahagian.
Reports state that the Secret Service was seen handcuffing a "white man with dark hair and wearing a blue shit with light-colored shorts." That mane ended up being Sahagian.
The White House firecracker incident happened around 6:30 p.m. EDT, and it happened to be just a few miles away from the frightening scene earlier in the day.
Early on Monday, there was a deadly shooting spree in a Washington Navy Yard that ended with 13 people dead, including the shooter. Once it happened, police had shut down certain areas including a block of Pennsylvania Avenue on the northwest side of the White House.
