While appearing on CNN's "The Lead" with Jake Tapper, White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer compared Republicans to terrorists, saying the administration has no plans to negotiate with people who act like they "have a bomb strapped to their chest," Breitbart reported Thursday.
“What we’re not for is negotiating with people with a bomb strapped to their chest,” he said. “We’re not going to do that.”
The comments didn't sit well with some, who note that the President is ready to negotiate with Iran, but refuses to speak with Republicans.
"Should senior Obama officials really be comparing those who disagree politically to suicide bombers?" NRSC strategist Brad Dayspring asked on Twitter.
"I'm going to guess @pfeiffer44 would want that interview back. POTUS has no responsibility for anything bad, GOP = suicide bombers. Not good," he added.
But Jon Favreau, a former speechwriter for Obama, fired back.
"You're blatantly lying on the first point and the second is 100% accurate," he tweeted.
Dayspring posted a video to prove his point and lamented White House rhetoric.
"On the 2nd, it's just sad that senior WH officials would make that comparison," he said.
Pfeiffer jumped in on the Twitter debate, claiming that Republicans are engaging in extortion and seek to destroy the economy.
"What the House GOP wants is extortion not negotiation --> ideological concessions that cant pass in exchange for not blowing up economy," he tweeted.
It's the kind of rhetoric one has come to expect from the radical left. The only thing White House advisers have not done is follow in the footsteps of Mike Malloy or Dan Savage in calling for the extermination of all Republicans.
But the way things are going, that could happen at any time.
"Remember the good old days when the 'violent rhetoric' of Sarah Palin PAC’s crosshairs map had people fainting?" Twitchy asked.
