'White Collar' helps Mozzie out

Peter: “Do I wonder why I don’t just arrest Mozzie and be done with it?”

“Empire City” is the newest episode of White Collar, which is directed by Tim DeKay. Mozzie finds out his Taxi medallion has been counterfeited. It’s hard to believe that Mozzie actually bought something legally, well legally for Mozzie which means a fake name is on the registration. This is definitely one of the more interesting ways to introduce a case. Anytime Mozzie plays an integral part in a case it becomes vastly more entertaining. Mozzie tends to bring out the humor and the crazy. Do you think Mozzie makes a good cabbie?

The case itself takes a musical turn, and soon the focus isn’t so much on how the medallions are being counterfeited and sold, it is more on who is selling them and how to take him down. The best part of this musical twist is that it drags June into the case. Overall this case gives a lot of characters more air time. Jones and Diana also take up a more prominent part. Anytime more of a team case comes along, it is entertaining. Sometimes characters are neglected, and it’s a shame because anytime they get air time, it is normally fantastic. Hopefully the writers will have an episode that showcases either Jones or Diana more, as a prominent part of the episode. Delving into either one of their back stories or family life could be entertaining. Would you like to see that?

The search for the key continues. One of the cool things about the key hunt is that it ends up revealing a bit about Neal’s life on the run. Sure all Neal does is share one of his traditions, but it is still a nice glimpse at his past. Peter and Neal haven’t really talked about their time when Neal was on the run, at least not recently. Another big part of the key hunt is the lying game. Elizabeth and Peter have a conversation about Neal’s lies, and Elizabeth comes right out and says she thinks it was a good thing that Neal lied to Peter. It’s good that Elizabeth isn’t really pretending to be on Peter’s side of this issue. She is lying to him, but she isn’t sitting there acting like Neal is a horrible person for keeping Peter out of the loop. Do you think Elizabeth will be the one to tell Peter that she asked Neal to lie to him?
