'White Christmas' at Decatur's Princess Theatre

The Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts in Decatur will help to kick off the Christmas season with a screening of the holiday classic, “White Christmas” (1954), on Monday, December 5, 2011, at 7 p.m. The free presentation is offered as part of Rotary Family Movie Night and will follow the annual Decatur Christmas parade. Tickets will be available at the door before the show.

Directed by Michael Curtiz, “White Christmas” stars Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen as a group of entertainers who work together to bring Christmas cheer to friends both old and new. The musical features memorable songs from Irving Berlin, including the title number and “Sisters.” Its combination of great songs, romantic comedy, and Yuletide sentiment have made “White Christmas” a holiday favorite with classic movie fans.

The historic Princess Theatre is located at 112 Second Avenue NE in downtown Decatur, AL. Call (256) 350-1745 or visit the Princess website for more information about upcoming events.
