Tired of traditional chocolate chip cookies? Try this delicious white chocolate chip alternative with a zesty twist of citrus. Whip up a batch for the upcoming long weekend and the whole family can snuggle up on the couch and enjoy a special treat at movie night.  

White chocolate chip and orange cookies

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons grated orange zest 
  1. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  2. Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture.
  4. Stir in white chocolate chips and orange zest.
  5. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased baking sheet. bake in 350* oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
