Tampa has numerous restaurants and bars located in every part of the city and a very popular area for fantastic food, cool cocktails, lively music and good time atmosphere can be found at several locations along the Causeway.
This is the first of a series of reviews for folks visiting the area who may not know where to go and what to expect when planning an evening out.
Whiskey Joe's located directly on the Causeway beside the Ben T. Davis Municipal beach has the food, the music and the atmosphere as a perfect nightspot. WJ is open during the day for lunch but dinner and the sunsets either on the patio or inside sitting behind huge glass windows looking right out on the sand and the water, just can't be surpassed.
The food is fresh seafood dishes cooked to perfection or for a light snack, the unlimited nachos with rich, creamy cheese dip and zesty salsa.
Whiskey Joe's has two happy hours so if you miss the first one at 5pm, there's another at 9pm. with special 2 for 1 and $5 pitchers of beer.
Live music keeps the atmosphere lively and you can choose to dine or just have a drink inside at the bar, seated at the window tables or outside on the patio deck. The sunset is picture perfect as a cool breeze ripples the water lapping gently against the sand.
Open late for the nightbirds.
