“Autumn...the year's last, loveliest smile.”
― William Cullen Bryant
Anyone who has lived at least one summer in Fort Worth, Texas knows the simple, yet profound joys of Fall.
For three months, we have suffered. We have hidden in our own homes, near the fans and AC vents. We are familiar with heat waves from the sidewalks, and carrying umbrellas in the afternoon.
And now..we know why. It's all coming to light! And by light, I mean the glorious sunlight of Fall!
With the exit of extreme heat and humidity, we welcome in cooler temperatures with open arms! Suddenly, porches, patios and food parks are on everyone's mind. It's not a new concept. It's what we wait for. It's what restaurant owners and servers wait for. Yet, as the first crisp air is detected, we experience a joy we had missed since Spring.
This is where Fort Worth shines. Sure, we have history, and culture, cowboys and corporations (essential the things that makes us awesome) but we have the best patios in the area! We have rooftops like Reata and Live Oak.
We have food parks that are cozy and adult beverage inclusive, thank you Fort Worth Food Park! We have a multitude of patios to choose from; too numerous for any one list. We take the upper hand over some neighboring cities with our river views, less traffic (= less smog for patio nesters), and our slower pace. All these lead to afternoons, evenings, even lunches with cool glasses, extraordinary food plates and a time to enjoy our city.
Let's makes hay (cause the sun is still shining) and get outside. Bring on the live music, the time with friends and lets see those smiles, on our own faces, or elsewhere!
