Mike McCoy is a hot name in the NFL right now.
McCoy, the Denver Broncos offensive coordinator since 2009, has put together an impressive enough resume to draw interest from multiple different NFL teams and their head coaching vacancies.
In his first season with Denver, McCoy's offense allowed Kyle Orton to flourish and enjoy career-highs in nearly every passing category. Last year, he showed versatility, adapting his offense to Tim Tebow's unique skill-set mid-season, allowing Tebow to push the team into the playoffs with many late-game heroics.
This season, McCoy's offense has really shined with Peyton Manning under center and the veteran QB set Broncos franchise records for completions (400), yards (4,659) and touchdowns (37). They're the second-highest scoring team in all of football (30.1 PPG) and McCoy's caught the attention of the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals.
Yahoo Sports is reporting the Broncos coordinator is interviewing with all three teams this weekend, and it seems like the Cardinals are his most likely destination. They just fired Ken Whisenhunt, who was an offensive guy, and also have an interview with Steelers OC Todd Haley lined up. Although, Arizona has interviewed current defensive coordinator Ray Horton twice and have Lovie Smith on their radar as well. The Bills have already talked to Lovie Smith and are supposedly in love with him, while the Bears are talking with upwards of 10 coaching candidates soon.
Any of the teams is a possibility for McCoy and it's unlikely anything will be announced for at least a few days if not a couple weeks.
Meanwhile, his Broncos have been preparing for their Divisional round playoff game, which is set for kickoff at 2:30 p.m. MT on Saturday January 20.
The winner of Indianapolis versus Baltimore, which kicks off at 11 a.m. MT Sunday, will play the Broncos in the Mile High City in six days.
