This post is inspired by The Village Voice’s post The Six Worst Chain Restaurants in New York. If you lived in New York City, land of a million independent restaurants, why would you even consider a chain other than two dine for $10 options for those less fortunate financially.
Of course, bad meals can be had at independently owned restaurants, that goes without saying. I agree with Quiznos on the Village Voice list. I remember something with sliced beef that left me wondering what exactly was in what appeared to be over processed beef. Like Poe's Raven - Nevermore.
My inquiry isn’t just fast food chains, it is chain restaurants – some are excellent like Chipotle, Morton’s, The Capital Grille and I even like McDonald’s Angus Mushroom Swiss. I swap out the mayonnaise for the Big Mac Sauce for a slight up charge.
Let me know your choices for the worse food and in a positive light, your favorites.

The Good: Roy's is definitely one of the best chains I've dined at. Really delicious food. California Pizza Kitchen has great salads like Moroccan chicken. In terms of fast food, I love Dunkin Donuts' veggie flat-bread sandwich if I need healthy on the go. Also: Panera Bread, Lebanese Taverna, Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys.
The Bad: KFC, McDonalds, Ruby Tuesday, The Olive Garden, TGIFridays, Papa John's.
