Apparently there will now be two shows using the Music City as their backdrop: ABC’s “Nashville” and A&E’s “Crazy Hearts: Nashville.” According to CMT News on Jan. 3, fans will have some things to think about because A&E’s new show premieres on the same night that ABC’s established show about Rayna, Juliette and the others returns form a break.
One thing to keep in mind is that one is fictional while the other is reality based. If you want real, you could just take a trip down to Nashville and visit the real Bluebird Café.
The fictional version offers lots of drama, scandal and love triangles that get our hearts racing. On the other hand, the real version offers real singers and songwriters like Lee Holyfield, Leroy Powell, Hannah Fairlight, Anthony Billups, Amy Wilcox and Jimmy Stanley. That’s not to discredit the actors who do their own singing on “Nashville” like Connie Britton, Charles Esten and Hayden Panettiere. They are incredible performers, too.
If you are watching strictly for the music, it remains to be seen if “Crazy Hearts: Nashville” will deliver the kind of music that “Nashville” has been lauded for.
Which version of “Nashville” will you watch and why? Or will just TiVo one of them? Leave us your thoughts in the comments and check back often for updates and news on “Nashville.”
