When it comes to joining a gym, it can feel more stressful and confusing than purchasing a home.  What is their bottom line?  How much are they going to charge me after one year?  What do I actually get for my money?  All of these are legitimate questions when choosing a gym.  Here are a few gyms that will surely fit your lifestyle.

1.  Life Time Fitness - This state-of-the-art gym costs $70 a month and most of the time  you can talk them out of the start-up fee.   What do you get for $70?  Basketball courts, racquetball courts, volleyball, cycling and other group classes, brand new equipment and weights, a pool, hot tubs and locker rooms with towel service to name a few.  They also have pay as you go spa services and tanning.  If you are a person who goes to the gym daily and uses a majority of the perks then this gym is for you.

*Great for those who are into weights, cardio, group exercise, swimming and team sports leagues.

2.  Lifestyle Family Fitness - With several locations around Indianapolis, Lifestyle offers everything you might want for only $29 a month.  Usually they offer specials where you don't have to pay a membership fee up front so just negotiate a little when you sign on the dotted line.  Lifestyle offers personal tv's on nearly every piece of equipment, group exercise, personal trainers, clean locker rooms, childcare and more.  Of course, they have different levels of memberships so make sure you pick the one that is right for you.

*Great for those who are into weights, cardio and group exercise.

3.  LA Fitness - This gym is very comparible to Lifestyle Family Fitness with monthly rates starting from $35.  LA Fitness offers lap pools, jacuzzis and saunas along with group fitness, locker facilities and basketball, racquetball and volleyball courts.  If you are willing to pay a little extra, they have childcare, personal trainers and a juice bar.

*Great for those who are into weights, cardio, group exercise, swimming and sports leagues.

4.  Cardinal Fitness - If you like to keep it simple at the gym and don't need all the extra frills then check out Cardinal Fitness.  They offer hundreds of locations around the US and it is rather inexpensive to join.  For just $19.95 a month you can belong to Cardinal.  They do have a one-time $20 processing fee but, like most gyms, you can talk them out of it.  This gym keeps it simple with the basic cardio equipment, weights and a locker room.

*Great for those who are into weights and cardio.

Don't forget the best way to visit any of these gyms is for FREE.  Everyone of these gyms allows you to preview their facilities for a week (and sometimes more).  If you are strapped for cash go to every different gym around and never pay a dime.  This way you can also find which one works best for you.
