With nearly 12 million viewers tuning in for the season four premiere of ‘Duck Dynasty,’ it is obvious that the show has become a staple in reality TV. The camo-sportin cast gets as much as attention, if not more, than many Hollywood celebrities these days. Their faith and family foundation has intrigued viewers, and brought about the notion that just maybe American actually prefers good clean humor over the dramatic, hedonistic shows that often dominate today’s networks. However, when Willie, Jep and Si Robertson stopped by “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” on Monday, September 9, they revealed that one of their family members initially had doubts about the show.
"We always thought there may be something there," Willie said.
"We just got an email out of the blue that said, 'Hey, I think you guys may have a big show." So I went to talk to dad. I said, 'Dad, we could do a big show on a network,” he continued.
Patriarch Phil didn’t exactly share Willie’s enthusiasm. "Nah. That won't work,” he said.
Since it is obvious that things not only worked….but went above and beyond, Willie makes a point of reminding his dad about his original statement every week.
Si insists he’s the most important man of the whole operation, because duck calls need reeds to work, and he’s the reed expert.
In other Robertson news, in case you haven’t heard, the family will be releasing a Christmas album appropriately entitled ‘Duck the Halls.’
Not only are the duck men finding success, but so are their ladies, and children. Sadie Robertson is getting to add some modeling experience to her resume. She strutted down the runway at the Sherri Hill Fashion Week runway show this week.
To join the duckaholics around the world, tune in to A&E on Wednesday nights.
