For those wanting to watch the Bowl Championship Series between Auburn and Florida at the Rose Bowl and miss the bulk of post-game traffic here are places to consider viewing the game.
A note of warning. The 210 freeway heading east out of Pasadena is often slow in normal traffic conditions starting around 2pm until 7pm. Don't be surprised if traffic remains slow around 8pm.
Lucky Baldwin's, 1770 East Colorado Boulevard and Allen Avenue
Lucky Baldwin's is an easy place to get in and out. Limited parking is available behind the bar and along Colorado Boulevard at Allen. It may be necessary to park just east of Allen on Colorado.
There are also a few other small establishments nearby. Once the game is over, drive north on Allen to get on the 210 freeway or drive east along Colorado Boulevard.
Colorado Boulevard at Sierra Madre Boulevard
There are a few bars and restaurants in this area. Like Lucky Baldwin's, as soon as the game is over head east on Colorado or drive north along Sierra Madre Boulevard to the 210 freeway.
Hastings Ranch, Islands on 3533 East Foothill Boulevard
Around Islands, there are a few restaurants and bars that will show the game. This gets you even further east of downtown Pasadena.
South Lake Avenue
On Lake Avenue below Del Mar, the area has more coffee shops and retail stores than sports bars but there are a few restaurants that will have the game like the well-established Burger Continental.
After the game, drive south to California Boulevard and drive east. You can follow this street into Arcadia and reach Huntington Drive.
La Canada, Montrose, La Cresecenta
Choose a place along the 210 freeway west of the Rose Bowl and traffic will be fine immediately following the game if you continue heading west.
If you want to be in the middle of postgame action, go to Old Town Pasadena between Marengo Avenue and Colorado west to Pasadena Avenue and Colorado Boulevard.
