Where to Start with Social Media

If you’re a business owner you’ve probably heard all the buzz about social media and you are probably left feeling a little confused about it all. Don’t worry that’s normal. The truth is, you don’t need to be on every platform, and you don’t need to post all day, everyday like some marketers try to tell you.

Sure, if you can be on every social platform, posting and engaging with that community then you’re going to see some great benefits. But the truth is you have to start with just one, and build a following there first, before you can move on. If you approach social media with this mindset, then you’re more likely to see a higher ROI.

Do You Know Which Platform is Best for You?

With so many people liking, tweeting, plusing and pinning it can be difficult to figure out which social network is best for your needs. At one time, it really depended on what your needs were. For example if you were a blogger you might choose a different platform than a local business owner, or work from home Mom.

These days that decision is quite clear.

Google+ is the social network that everyone needs to take advantage of. It doesn’t matter what your specific needs are Google+ is your best option. The G+ platform is the most robust social network right now and probably will be for a while.

Google+ has everything all the other platforms have and then some.

It has all the photo editing power of instagram combined with the storage capabilities of Flickr with all the best sharing elements of Pinterest. Combining the best features of the top three photo sharing sites is a pretty big deal. Allowing users to access all of this from one place is nothing short of incredible.

Don’t forget that Google owns YouTube.

That means everything you can do on YouTube, you can do in Google plus. Hangouts are totally unique to G+. Although you might see some people trying to copy the Hangout feature, it will never be as good as Google’s. There are just too many added benefits to using the hangouts inside G+

The ability to write posts as long as you want, post video and/or photos and engage with a community of people that want to see your content is what makes Google+ the best.

There are literally too many benefits and features to cover in one article. If you’re someone who is ready to get started in social media and don’t know what to do, just log into to Google plus and get started.

It won’t take more than a few minutes for you to get the hang of things. Once you’ve done that you will start to see some of the benefits of using this platform. It will help you crush your competition and you’ll be able spend less on social marketing.
