Did you make a new years resolution this year to start running, or to run more? Do you like running outdoors in the crisp winter air? Running in Minnesota in February can be exhilarating or it can be downright impossible, the weather can change quickly and dramatically, yet the desire to run outside for some people is very strong. You don’t have to wait until spring; there are plenty of opportunities to run races in the winter in Minnesota.
Feb. 6 2010 Twin Cities snowshoe shuffle. Race starts at 10 am on Saturday at Long Lake Park in New Brighton MN. There is a pre race spaghetti diner on Friday night before the race. A shirt and a post race lunch are included on race day.
Feb. 6 2010. Yukon day run, This event is in White Bear Lake Minnesota, a 1 mile and 3 mile race will be held starting at 9 am. Included with the fee is a hooded sweatshirt.
Feb. 7 2010. Freeze your buns run 5k in Hamel Minnesota. The fee for the race includes a pancake breakfast starting at 7:30 am, and a long sleeve shirt. Race starts at 9:45 am.
Feb. 7 2010. The frigid 5k in St Paul will include a 5k and a 10k race. Both adult races start at 10 am, 2 shorter kids races start at 9:45 am.
Feb. 13 2010. Hearts r running Valentines Day 5k, takes place at Como Park in St Paul Minnesota. The fee includes a long sleeve shirt.
There are also several Life Time fitness facilities around the Twin Cities that are running indoor triathlons thru the months of February and March, if you are a member contact them for details.
