Cocktail bars are exploding all over the city; here are three great places to check out before winter shows up and you want to hibernate!
RED LIGHT: This dessert and cocktail bar is introducing a series of new cocktails, including the Agdalene, a gin, elderflower liquor and lemon beverage; the Tijuana Twister, made with jalapeño tequila, watermelon, lime and honey; Just Peachy, a combination of vodka, peach liqueur, lemon, prosecco; and the Coal Miner, a mix of rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Sambuca and angostura bitters. Head over today to sample one of their popular desserts, new savory flatbreads, and of course many of these irresistible cocktails.
HAROLD BLACK: DC’s newest speakeasy is a petite but charming spot, with a handful of bar stools and a couple of booths for larger groups. The dark and brooding venue is perfect for the true cocktail connoisseurs, which features a few small plates and a series of eclectic cocktails. Don’t like what’s on the menu? Share what you are looking for with the bartender and he will easily make you something you like. Bitters, housemade syrups, exotic liquors: they have it all and they know how to use them. Be sure to make a reservation: there are few spots for walk-ins!
CHAPLIN'S RESTAURANT & BAR: The newest venue from the Wilder brothers features Asian street food and a host of exciting beverages. Try the Lime Light, with apple brandy, gin, watermelon, pickled pineapple, and lime; By The Sea, with lemon, apricot liquor, champagne, and bourbon; or The Sunny Side, with three different kinds of rum.
