Where to find ‘Pokemon’ roleplay (Photos)

The “Pokemon” franchise is one of the most popular game franchises in the world, and, as with many video games, fans of the franchise often wish to write fan fiction about the characters and pokemon. One popular form of fanfic writing is “Pokemon” roleplay. The advertising for the new “Pokemon X and Y” has renewed interest in the fandom as well

And RPHaven.com has one of the most extensive “Pokemon” roleplay chat rooms on the web. There are even two prominent groups dedicated to nothing but roleplaying as pokemon, pokemon trainers, breeders and more. There are other groups as well, but the most prominent are “Pokemon” and “Pokemon Gijinka”. The Pokemon Gijinka room tends to have 10+ players in during the prime-time evening hours while the Pokemon room has fewer with around 5 at peak evening hours. There can be a lot of overlap between the rooms though since RPHaven allows you to be in multiple rooms simultaneously.

As a warning, please do not search profiles on the site while you are at work. Any profiles are NSFW. The main group pages are perfectly fine though.

The most popular characters found in the roleplay chat rooms are trainers and anthropomorphized or gijinka pokemon, though there are a number of players who just use pokemon characters as they appear in the games. Of course, there is also the cross between these where the player uses shapeshifting to go between an anthro form, gijinka form or a pokemon form.

Roleplaying styles among the “Pokemon” roleplayers vary from one-lining all the way up to multi-paragraph and even novella length writing. What people want to play varies from trainer battles to more explicit, adult content. There’s sure to be someone interested in doing what you’re looking for.

So if you’re looking for a fun, live-interactive way to write about your favorite pokemon, RPHaven.com may be the home for you.

If you need photos of how to use the RPH site, refer to the slideshow at the top of the page.
