Your dog suddenly gets sick or injured. Emergency situations often occur on evenings, weekends, or holidays when your regular vet’s office is closed. Be prepared. Know where the nearest emergency veterinary hospital is located and know how to get there. Keep the hospital's phone number handy.

Today the metropolitan Washington, DC area has far more emergency animal hospitals than ever before. Most are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
