Where they stand: NASCAR Nationwide Series points after Las Vegas

Three races into the NASCAR Nationwide Series 2014 race season, Regan Smith still stands as the only series championship-eligible driver to win a race, doing so in the season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Feb. 22. In the time since, Sprint Cup Series regulars Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski have been to victory lane, with Busch taking the win at Phoenix International Raceway and Keselowski winning last weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

But as Sprint Cup regulars dominate the winner's circle in Nationwide competition, the series regulars battle for points and a championship. As the only series regular to win a race, so far, Smith also leads the way in the championship points standings. With a tally of 117 points, he has a three-point lead on second-place driver, Trevor Bayne.

The top-three drivers in the points standings and four of the top-five have matching stats when it comes to top-five race finishes, with each driver having one. In addition to Smith and Bayne, other top-five drivers include Elliott Sadler in third and series rookies Ty Dillon and Chase Elliott in fourth and fifth. Of the five, Dillon is the only one without a top-five finish in the first three races. Both Smith and Bayne have finished in the top-10 of all three of the races, so far, while the other three drivers in the top-five have two top-10 race finishes apiece.

The Nationwide Series heads to Bristol (Ten.) Motor Speedway this weekend for a Saturday afternoon event. Here is how the top-10 drivers rank, points-wise, heading into Bristol:

1. Regan Smith, leader
2. Trevor Bayne, -3
3. Elliott Sadler, -9
4. Ty Dillon, -12
5. Chase Elliott, -14
6. Brian Scott, -20
7. Brendan Gaughan, -23
8. Dylan Kwasniewski, -30
9. James Buescher, -31
10. Mike Bliss, -36
