According the Hollywood Reporter Paul Rudd and Zach Galifianakis will star in the new Paramount movie "Will" written by comedian Demetri Martin ("Important Things with Demetri Martin") and directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton. While this is Martin's first screenplay, while Faris and Dayton last brought us the indie hit "Little Miss Sunshine." The duo has yet to direct another movie, although they do have some in the works, including "The Abstinence Teacher" based on a novel of the same name by Tom Perrotta. "Will" sounds like more a comedic turn for the team with the plot as follows:
"...an ordinary guy (Rudd) who lives in a world where people's lives and destinies are being written by scribes in Heaven. The man wakes up one day to find that his heavenly writer (Galifianakis) has decided to no longer draft his life, and he must go about his day unscripted, ending up on a journey to fulfill his hidden potential."
This will be Rudd and Galifianakis' second go around as they are both to appear in "Dinner for Schmucks" which will be out later this year. Rudd has been making quite a name for himself in comedy over the last few years, but especially with his last starring role in "I Love You, Man" and Galifianakis broke out last summer in the hit movie "The Hangover." Both have shown they have great comedic timing and could be the perfect foils for one another. This might just be a movie to be excited for!
