Some folks believe that one’s career is over if they are not splashed across the papers, especially the tabloids. Other folks know that just as much, if not more, success can come from “being about it”, instead of folks trying to “talk about it”. Macy Gray has always been a “say what it is” “be about it” type of person. Although she hasn’t been splashed across the media outlets, there is no sign that she will be slowing down (nor losing fan base, with 127,000 Facebook fans) any time soon. So, where in the world is Macy Gray and what has she been up to lately?

But wait, for those of you who don’t know … Who is Macy Gray?
Macy Gray was born Natalie Renée McIntyre on September 6, 1969. She is the mother of three children: Aanisah, age 18; Tahmel “Mel”, age 17; and Happy, age 16. The children were born during Gray’s marital union to mortgage broker Tracy Hinds (1996-1998). Gray is an award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, record producer and actress.
“What awards and sales figures fail to illustrate is the depth and breadth of Macy’s artistry. In an industry that is increasingly stifling of real artists, she’s forged her own vision, creating music that leaps genre barriers from experimental soul to alternative rock, from retro-disco to hip-hop. Her artistic integrity and innovativeness has won her fans across the world, including artists such as John Frusciante, Erykah Badu, Gang Starr, Mos Def, and Pharoah Monche, all of whom have collaborated with her.” ~Excerpt from Macy Gray official website.
She is best known for her R&B soul singing, rough voice, disorganized natural hair afro and “say what it is” attitude. She has been involved in many behind the scene roles, as song writer, featured in songs (such as the Black Eyed Peas), movie soundtracks (such as “Rush Hour 2”, supporting actress in movies (such as “Training Day”), philanthropic concert performance efforts.
