Looking for big bass this time of year is not the hardest thing to do. We know that they are searching for areas to get ready for fall and soon winter. Right now I have found a lot of good size largemouth bass in about 2-3 feet of water. That is in a medium sized river. If you are fishing in the river, look for these shallow areas.
The largemouth bass will be holding a pattern there, and if you can find a deeper spot close by, then you may find even bigger bass. They will already be in the deeper water. They will come up and out often, so do not give up on the shallow water. Using spinner baits and minnows near edges with tall grass is excellent.
You can still find some lunker bass in the deep water in ponds or lakes. They are actually moving around quite a bit right now, so you will do good to keep your fish finder on and operating. Using larger plastic worms (about 10” in length) will land you some prized fish. You can also get them to bite some big jigs with pork trailers on it.
