Diane Keaton is such a pal of Woody Allen she accepted his award on Sunday night. At the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards it was Woody Allen who received the Cecil B. DeMille Award, but he wasn't in the building. The star doesn't like award shows and told the media that he wasn't going to be attending to receive the award. While the Los Angeles Times suggested he wasn't coming, the fans still hoped it would happen.
"I said if I don't have to watch it and I don't have to come to it, they can do anything they want," said Woody Allen about the award ceremony. While the star might not have wanted to be part of the show, he was spurring rumors online that he might be dead or very ill. Of course, the stories were untrue, but filled the void of what was happening.
To some fans a no-show for Woody Allen was a shock. People kept expecting the star to creep on stage to make a wonderful surprise. However, that didn't happen and viewers at home were surprised by Diane Keaton’s continued discussion about her friend.
Woody Allen deserved the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globe Awards. It’s too bad he didn't want to come to Los Angeles to get the award, but the fans still love him and all the work he has offered the movie business.
