Fashion savvy shoppers in New York and L.A. have been taking advantage of warehouse sale for years. For those of you that aren't familiar, a warehouse sale is the perfect opportunity to get fabulous fashions, shoes and accessories that are going out of season at a fraction of the price. Warehouse sale events, (also known in fashion circles as "sample sales") are becoming increasingly popular outside of the mainstream fashion destinations such as New York, Los Angeles and Dallas. After all, what fashionista doesn't love being able to shop for their favorite designer fashions at a bargain price all under one roof?

Last year, fashion experts, Aimee Gowland and Corrie Pellerin of ALG Style (a premier styling company), and shoplocalstyle.com introduced the first warehouse sale to New Orleans. And, because of it's positive response and success, her company has continued to bring the best retailers and designers together for what is every fashionistas dream come true - - a day of shopping discounts, bargains and savings galore!

ALG Style may have used New York warehouse sales as a template for creating the only New Orleans Warehouse Sale, but in the classic New Orleans manner, Gowland is adding her own touch to make this event spectacular! The Warehouse Sale promises to have 20+ local boutiques and designers merchandise at deep discounted prices.

I caught up with Aimee and Corrie and asked the ladies to give me the inside scoop on the upcoming warehouse sale and ALG Style:

How would you define a warehouse sale? The Warehouse Sale is a four hour flash sale consisting of local boutiques and designers all under one roof selling their wares at ridiculously reduced prices.

How did you come up with the concept? We along with Shoplocalstyle.com wanted to emulate similar concepts found in Dallas, Houston and New York.

Name your favorite experience at a sample sale/warehouse sale you've attended. While living in NYC I had the opportunity to attend the Barney’s Warehouse Sale and enjoyed the utter chaos, excitement and the hunt for an amazing deal!

What stores can we expect at The Warehouse Sale?
We have over 20 stores and designers involved! From high end boutiques to consignment shops and designers! Look for Designer Amanda deLeon, Pret-a-Porter, SWAP, Armoire, Hemline, Azby’s, Haute, Vita, Hattie Sparks, The Elizabeth Chronicles, Cella’s, Tchoup Industries, Angelique, Hickory Chicks, C. Collection, Spruce, Maiya, Make Me Up, Sarah Ott and more!

When is The Warehouse Sale? Sunday, August 24, 11AM-3PM at Mellow Mushroom in Metairie.

What kind of discounts should customers expect at a warehouse sale?
One can count on close to wholesale prices on many items!

How would you describe Southern fashion?
Southern style can be sultry and seductive yet charming and sweet all in the same moment.

Where do you think fashion in New Orleans is headed?
With the city experiencing a major real estate boom, we can expect to see more retail and in turn more boutiques and shopping, NOLA is on the radar of high profile publications for not just travel, economic growth and cuisine but for our posh boutiques and unique style.

What exactly does a styling company do?
Conceived in 2007, ALG Style’s mission is to teach men and women to “dress their best self.” Clothing is an extension of your personality and when you look good, you consequentially feel good, and that projects andenhances a confident self-image. Whether it is conducting corporate seminars or assisting a client with refining his or her personal style, ALG understands that fashion is not universal; their job is to aid in defining what is right for the individual.

What's your typical day like?
There is nothing typical about our day… some days we may be working on an editorial photo shoot pulling beautiful clothing for a gorgeous model and other days we might be in a dark dusty closet trying to find the matching shoe to a long lost black pump that a client desperately requires and we are covered in dust bunnies and being impaled by wire hangers.

Favorite part of the job?
We are fortunate to love what we do in a city we equally fancy.
