Nicolette Medina, 23, has been missing from Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood for 3 days. She told her roommate she would be back, then took off walking down the 3800 block of West Lawrence Avenue. She hasn't been heard from since.
Friends and family members say her disappearance is extremely strange, as she is the mother of a 6 year old boy and she is in contact with them every day. However, since Monday, she has not answered her cell phone or used any of her social media accounts.
There are a few possibilities as to Nicolette's disappearance, which are common in any missing persons case. She could have just left. Maybe she needed a break from life or just wanted to spend some time away. She has every right to do this, though it seems unlikely, as she does have a young child, but it's not unheard of for mothers to do this. Her Facebook page shows several pictures of her with her son, but it's not known if she is the boy's full time caregiver. Another possibility is, of course, foul play. This one may have more clout in this situation. Nicolette is a young, attractive woman, walking alone in a fairly dangerous Chicago neighborhood.
Either way, her friends and family are very concerned for her and want to know where she it. Nicolette is light complected, but Hispanic, with light brown hair and brown eyes. She is small, standing just 4'11" and weighing a slight 110 pounds. If you see her or know of her whereabouts, you are asked to contact Chicago's Area North SVU at (312)-744-8266.
Hopefully it's all just a misunderstanding of some kind and she returns home safe and sound.
