It has been nearly a week since 19-year-old Lea Porter's family has heard from her, something they say is completely out of character for her. Her brother, Maxx, who flew from California to Westminister, CO, to look for her said, “She doesn’t go dark, and if she does go somewhere for a couple days, like a friend’s house, it was always very easy to track her down.” Since her disappearance, there have been no calls, texts, email, or social media updates.
Lea was apparently upset about her boyfriend leaving town, and went to the apartment of a friend. After that, no one knows what happened to her. The man she was last seen with has allowed police to search his home and has, so far, been cooperative in the investigation. One wonders what, exactly, he has to say. Her car was found in the parking lot of his apartment, but her personal items, like her purse and cell phone, were not inside.
Is Lea Porter simply missing on her own, or is there some foul play at work? For now, she joins the ranks of Kara Nichols and Kelsie Schelling, both young women who have disappeared from the area. Lea is 5'5" and weighs 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her wrist, and a pierced lower lip.
