All morning long many people have been scrambling to get confirmation about what has been done with Dutch. Die hard animal lovers nation wide all say the same basic thing, that if it were them, they would take Dutch and run and hide him, even if that goes against the judges orders. Even I can say that if he were my dog he might have accidentally escaped and I don’t know where he is but I am moving out of state/country. So where is Dutch? Was he put down?
At this point in time, I can not answer those questions fully. I have called the governors office and was told to call the courts, I called the courts and got a recorded message telling me to send an email, I emailed and am still waiting on a response, I called Animal Control and they wouldn’t anything either way. However, I can say that I have received reports that Dutch was turned into Animal Control after 6 p.m. last night and was put down, but I have also heard from a credible source that Dutch has left the state but I have not been able to confirm that.
The Montrose Daily Press posted the following in an article this morning “Aguilar was told to surrender Dutch to Animal Control, but because he is appealing to Montrose County Court, euthanasia is not imminent. Aguilar had not turned over the dog as of 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Animal Control Supervisor Mike Duncan said. Aguilar did not immediately return a message left Thursday evening.” It certainly sounds like Dutch may in fact still be alive but no one will confirm it either way. It is all very strange. For now, we can hope and pray for Dutch and his family. Once I have confirmation of what has happened to Dutch, either way, I will let you know.
A new website has been created on Facebook after the original was ordered down by Judge Brown, the creator is outside of the country and the judges jurisdiction, it is Tribute to Dutch.
