Jackson, MS: Yesterday, American Pit Bull Examiner discovered yet another pit bull slaughterhouse operating as a ‘rescue shelter.’ Mississippi Animal Rescue League has been run by Debra Boswell since 1978.
APBE was horrified to hear Boswell’s MARL killed 24 ‘pit bulls’ based on a pit bull hate site, DogsBite.org run by zealot Colleen Lynn whose bloodthirsty mission is to annihilate America’s native breed, American Pit Bull Terrier and all other dogs with any bully appearing features.
Reading the posts from lackeys and followers of Lynn in the commentary below the article leaves a reader feeling like Carrie in the final scene of the Stephen King movie, bloodshed running everywhere.
It was shocking for lack of a better word to read some of these homicidal and violent comments. To know people are walking around who harbor these angry and murderous thoughts is horrifying.
A 2010 Jackson Free Press article interviewed Debra Boswell, the director of Mississppi Animal Rescue League where the 24 dogs were killed reportedly without temperament tests. Who knows how many hundreds of thousands of other dogs and puppies are being slaughtered at MARL?
One accredited rescuer recently tried to save a puppy and was turned away by Boswell. The puppy like so many reported others, was destroyed by Boswell’s MARL.
According to the article, “The shelter sits on 47 acres off of Greenway Drive, near some warehouses and a Hindu temple.”
“On a chair outside Boswell's office door, there is a thick black binder with the label "Euthanizations 2010." It's a reminder that the shelter's "no-animal-turned-away" policy also means that MARL must eventually euthanize between 70 and 72 percent of the animals it houses. The shelter facilitates adoptions, but some of the animals are simply not adoptable, Boswell said. They may be old, sick, ill mannered or just unlucky.”
“Unlucky” were the 24 recent kills last week based on preachings and false misleading statistics published by Colleen Lynn and DogsBite.org, referred to by Boswell as ‘dogbite.org’ as the reasoning behind pit bull slaughter.
“Perhaps as a result, the shelter does not feel overcrowded. The dog runs are noisy, but spacious. Boswell shows me the facility's "Rainbow Room," where families can request private euthanasia for their pet. There's a table lamp, providing softer light than overhead fluorescents and a book called ‘Dog Heaven.’”
MARL is masquerading as a shelter, but in reality a pit bull slaughterhouse supported by local citizens and pit bull hate groups alike. The Facebook comments supporting MARL’s high pit bull kills do not differ. The Colleen Lynn lackeys are screeching to kill all pit bulls on one page with Mississippi Animal Rescue League Facebook supporters applauding Roswell for her ‘hard work.’
MARL reportedly brings in 1.5 million dollars in support according to Guidestar.org statistics.
One thing is for certain. Killing that many animals is very hard work.
