On Saturday, authorities stated that a new born baby girl that was found in a plastic bag outside the Stonegate Villas Apartments in Cypress has already developed a tooth that may help authorities lead them to clues to who her parent's may be, reports ABC News.
The abandoned baby that the nurses at the hospital have dubbed, Chloe was only four pounds when she was found on Feb. 19. Her umbilical cord was still attached and had been cut. Hospital officials believe the baby was only two hours old and premature when she was found.
"We were fortunate the baby was found so quickly and that the woman looked in the bag," said CPS spokeswoman Estella Olguin.
Texas has an infant safe haven law, but in spite of it Chloe was left outside alone.
Authorities are hoping that the unique genetic trait where her bottom tooth has already erupted happens only 1 out of 2,000 births. This trait along with Chloe's full head of black hair and grey eyes, may lead authorities into discovery who her parents are.
Chloe will be cared for by a foster family until her court date on March 4 when the courts will decide her fate. Until then, CPS is hoping that relatives will recognize Chloe's traits and come forward.
