Should we end the practice of 'fall back, spring forward,' permanently?
Florida State Senator Daren Soto, D-Orlando thinks it should and wants to change it. He told WCTV Friday, “I think that sunshine is big business here in the state of Florida and an extra hour during the winter time certainly would help out business and it’s also a quality life issues for Floridians.”
Business interests that rely on having later sunshine agreed with Soto. Golf pro Jason Bench said, "“If I worked until five o’clock I’d have a couple of hours to at least go out and enjoy the golf course after work.”
Another golf pro Kayla Pon said, "As a business we would therefore make more money which would then impact the economy which in all would be great for everybody.”
Florida lawmakers rejected the idea to end the practice of keeping daylight savings time all year round. But what do you think? Should we keep daylight saving time year round and end the practice of "fall back and spring forward?' Leave your comments below.
