If you are planning to learn floral arranging in the future, here is a question for you. When are you going to start learning it ? How soon are you going to implement your plan ? Some people answer this question saying “When the time has come”. Some people say “As soon as I successfully save money enough to take lessons”. Or some say “When I lose my current job” etc. etc. From person to person, what he/she says is different because the situation surrounding each person is different. That is quite understandable.
However no matter what kind of situation he/she is surrounded by, we can say “The sooner, the better.” AND “The younger, the better.” This can be said not only for floral arrangements but also for most of other skills. Namely regardless of the type of subject/skill, it is quite ideal to start learning when he/she is young. And also it is better to begin to learn as soon as possible.
One of the reasons behind some people being unable to take action right now is that financial situation does not allow them to implement the plan they have in their mind. This is a very difficult barrier to clear. If you are quite serious and enthusiastic to implement your plan, you should save as much amount of money as possible in order to enable you to implement your idea.
Another point is the past experience already imprinted in their mind. When learning something, the first thing they have to do is just duplicating what instructor does. In a sense it is a DEAD COPY. There should be no room for his/her own idea to intervene during a ramp up stage. However if a student starts learning after getting old, there is something which is already imprinted in their mind, which sometimes becomes a kind of obstacle. Namely some people often hesitate to do complete duplication without thinking anything. The knowledge and information that are already imprinted in their mind sometimes do not allow them to make a dead copy.
One more point is that younger generation has much less difficulties to acquire new knowledge and skills because the brain is still flexible. PLUS the memory capacity of young generation is much bigger than old people. As far as the situation surrounding them allows, they should challenge a new “task” when they are still young. The bottom line is the sooner they earn a skill, the longer they can utilize it.
