Circumstances Which May Warrant Giving the Cheater a Second Chance
If you’re struggling with the decision of whether or not to take a cheating husband or boyfriend back, see if any of the circumstances below apply to your situation.
You might want to consider taking the cheater back and giving him or her a second chance if the infidelity occurred under one of the circumstances below:
Was the infidelity
• an isolated incident, such as a one night stand, rather than a pattern or history of infidelity?
• committed under the influence of drugs or alcohol, which resulted in poor judgment or lowered inhibitions?
• committed while the cheater was going through a midlife crisis of some kind?
• committed as a misguided response to a life crisis such as the death of a loved one or the loss of a job?
• the result of sex addiction, where the cheater is seeking, or willing to seek medical or professional help?

Other Factors to Consider When Deciding Whether to Take a Cheater Back
In addition to the circumstances surrounding the infidelity, there are a few other things you should consider when deciding whether or not to give a cheating spouse or significant other a second chance. Consideration of the factors below can help you decide on the best course of action to take.
• the type of infidelity
• what stage the affair is in
• the cheater’s degree of emotional attachment to the Other Woman or the Other Man
• the cheater’s attitude about the affair
• the cheater’s feelings about infidelity in general
• the cheater’s level of commitment to you and to your marriage or relationship
