When a person can't see their principles for all the political correctness, you get nonsensical situations like this. White House social secretary Desiree Rogers has been wreaking PC-havoc with long standing White House tradition, and at the same time, firing another salvo in the War on Christmas. This would be the same Desiree Rogers who decided doing things her way left the White House vulnerable to a security lapse and party crashers at a state dinner.
According to a New York Times report, Rogers and the Obamas were planning a "non-religious Christmas" at the White House for 2009. This included not displaying the White House creche, an antique nativity scene that is traditionally put on display in the East Room. The reasoning, according to Rogers and noted in the report, was that the Obamas wanted the holiday to be more inclusive. After some objections were raised, the nativity was displayed in the East Room after all.
The idea that displaying a nativity scene could be seen as "non-inclusive" demonstrates how political correctness can warp reality and how off-base the Obamas are with mainstream America. If the President thinks Baby Jesus is intolerant of others, he does not know the faith he claims to practice. If others are offended at the idea of a nativity scene being displayed - as is often the case - the fault lies with the offended, not with Christianity, Jesus, or a nativity scene.
The actions of Rogers and the Obamas are not well-intentioned or simply misguided. They are deliberate attempts to punish one faith because they are ashamed and afraid to defend it. Rogers herself said in an effort to change things, events around the White House would be "Obama-tized." I guess for Baby Jesus, "Obama-tized" means being put in a box and locked away in a storage closet for Christmas.

Victor, it because these left wings fools are on the side of the guy who got Eve to eat the apple!
wow John Smith, did you graduate high school?
I suppose the next compromise will be the Ten Commandments.
You know, "Thou shall not kill, covet thy neighbours goods etc."
Isn't it about time the Politically Correct worked out where our common laws and moral codes originated?
Jesus is the name above all other names, and the mentioned of the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess to the glory of God that Jesus Christ is Lord. God does not need to defend himself due to the godlessness of the world. We live in an auspicious time of disolusionment of a global eperdemic Jesus told us that these time would come a time of chaos.mayhem bedlam as man's heart turned away from God and turn to evil. The day of the Lord is coming soon and He will come as a thief in the night to judge the whole world of every race and creed and none shall escape except we know Him through repentance and salvation and through confession of our wicked way and ask a forgiving God who died for the sins of the world . This is the greatest gift to mankind a saviour, a redeemer and there is none like Him the God of Abraham , Isaac and Jacob the same today yesterday and forever. Religion is a tool of the devil and it proves its point today as we see what people do
Wow, Jane Smith; did YOU graduate FROM (this word is needed!)high school !!!
The Rapture is not far off. God Bless Israel.
Yikes - with all the problems in the state of tx and in this country, this issue is a priority for the author? It's shortsighted at best, and complete nonsense.
This stoops to an entirely new level of ridiculousness. Is the author really that insecure in his religious beliefs that the display of symbols has become the end all be all to the christmas season? None of what he mentions has any bearing on the true meaning of christmas. Perhaps if he would actually practice and focus on the true meaning of Christmas - not just in december, but every day, he'd see that the display of symbols and the rhetorical "war on christmas" is nothing but stupidity in action. All the righteous indignation by the author is nothing but a verbal temper tantrum. Be a real christian and actually practice the tenants of your religion not just bloviate about your better way. It's my belief that true Christian show their christianity by their actions, not by which lawn ornaments they display.
This is much to do about nothing. The author fails to mention a pertinent point from the article...
"Yet in the end, tradition won out; the executive mansion is now decorated for the Christmas holiday, and the crèche is in its usual East Room spot."
Would the author have a problem if symbols and traditions of other faiths were also on display during Christmas, or is his intollerance inclusive to his beliefs alone?
Grow up and get a grip, your way isn't the only way. Perhaps that's why billboard christianity is so distasteful. I prefer to let actions speak louder than plastic displays.
Why do we have to even acknowledge thesae aetheistic idiots. |They are not worth the garbage they emit from their backsides!
i know people don't want to accept the fact, but christmas stems from paganism. Don't get bogged down by the fact Christmas artifacts was not shown. It irrelevant to the God I serve. Emmanuel is God with us. If God is in your heart and you practice him in your daily lives you have nothing to fear. As the guy above mentions God is on his return to reclaim back his world. Fear God and keep his commandments that all God requires of us. The light of the world is Jesus not the light of a Christmas. Where is Christmas in the bible anyway?
