Liberals believe in free speech, so long as they are free to choose the speakers. If someone tries to contradict them, they foam at the mouth and get nervous ticks. Or they try to run them down with their car.
In Reno, Nevada, abortion doctor Damon Stutes takes time off from his busy schedule of killing defenseless, unborn humans to commit vehicular censorship. On February 26, 2010, witnesses report Stutes was about to pull in to his abortion clinic when he swerved his car up onto a public sidewalk to run over several large pro-life signs that had been set up.
The signs, which state "Abortion Stops a Beating Heart," had been legally placed on public property in front of his clinic by a local pro-life group. The signs, which have been on display for over a year, have been credited in saving at least one life, as one woman who was about to enter Stutes' facility read the signs and reconsidered her decision. That decision cost Stutes business, so he decided to take out the competition with his car.
Volunteers who stand and pray outside Stutes' facility have encouraged women about to enter to consider other alternatives, and recommend them to abortion alternative centers that can help.
Carol Marie Siedenburg of the pro-life group "40 Days for Life Reno" described the incident. "On Friday morning, at approximately 8:10 am, while approaching the abortion site, Dr. Damon Stutes drove off the road and onto the dirt shoulder and ran over two of the signs before crossing back across the street and driving into the driveway of the abortion site property. A police report has been filed and will be followed up by their criminal investigators," she said. "Free speech, and those who stand and offer silent witness and hope, must be protected from violent attacks from those who disagree."
The incident isn't the first time the violence inside in abortion clinic has spilled over onto peaceful protesters outside. In October 2008, Bryant Shireman tried to run over a group of pro-life supporters outside of an Arkansas clinic. He was charged with three counts of aggravated assault. In October 2009, a Georgia abortion doctor was arrested after hitting a woman with his fist during a road rage incident.
