When guns are outlawed only peasants will have guns

These Talibani are already armed. So are American gangbangi. Our
government arms Afghanis, Iraqis and Pakis, but don't want American

The Afghan and Paki provinces that share common borders are considered lawless lands because neither the Afghan nor Paki governments control them.

But this has been true for centuries. These are tribal lands, where people live by tribal laws, which means they are not lawless but merely governmentless.

Now true lawlessness has come to these provinces because Taliban and al-Qaida militants, pushed out of their natural habitat by the American-backed governments on both sides, now seek to control the tribal lands.

Facing a similar problem in the barren regions of Iraq, the US government passed out thousands of rifles to villagers who formed militias to fight against the militants.

Keep in mind these are U.S. government bureaucrats arming these peasants.

“Yes, Senator, we have been running background checks on these people. For example, the mud hut neighbors of Hakim tell us he is a professional goat herder. Over the years Hakim has participated in the stoning deaths of three women who disgraced their families by allowing themselves to be brutally raped so we certainly don’t trust him with stones, but he’s never shot anyone.

“And we conducted a psych eval on young Zaid. He believes pigs are unclean but he sleeps with his camels. He’s too young to know what a virgin is but he believes he’ll receive 72 of them in paradise if he dies a martyr’s death. And while he was considering Suicide Bomber as a viable career choice he’s willing to change his vocation and love America if we give him a 1956 M1 rifle.”

According to an AP article, these American-armed Iraqi civilian militias “have been credited with reducing violence in Iraq, and a comparable initiative is under way in Afghanistan.”

Now the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan is planning on handing out 30,000 rifles to their villagers.

The provincial minister explained that the guns would be distributed among "peaceful groups and individuals" so they could help police protect their villages.

Meanwhile, back in the enlightened USSA, politicians and police and firearm phobics are doing everything in their power to disarm "peaceful groups and individuals," leaving them at the mercy of such domestic terrorist groups and individuals as murderers, muggers, rapists, child molesters and malicious gangbangers.

Apparently, Third World peasants should have the right to defend themselves but Americans should not. Apparently, arming Third World peasants and forming them into militias has the effect of reducing violence in Iraq and Afghanistan and maybe even in Pakistan, but allowing American citizens to arm and organize themselves could never possibly have the same result in the United States.

That’s America’s metrosexual latte lapping liberal for you; something that actually works in the real world should never be allowed to interfere with one’s comfortable ideology. Especially when that ideology irrationally imagines that a peaceful citizen with a Glock is far more frightening than a murderer, mugger, rapist, child molester or gangbanger.

Thank you, Garry! Fortunately I live in a state that permits gun ownership - but maybe not for long.

Of COURSE the latte-lappers are scared of responsible citizens owning firearms. We are the single biggest threat to their dream of a statist utopia.

And, Maria. The "state" *permitting* gun ownership? That right is inherent to your very existence - it does NOT depend on the state, it depends on YOU. So long as you are willing to look them in the eye and say "NO" you will never be disarmed. The first step is getting the notion that you have to ask "permission" out of your head. As Robert Heinlein observed years ago:

" Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything —you can't conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him"

I guess I'll be forever a peasant, since I'll only be disarmed if I am dead.
