When Dedmon expects to sign with Magic

The Orlando Magic are expected to sign center Dewayne Dedmon to a 10-day contract Monday, according to a Yahoo Sports report Saturday.

The 7-foot, 255-pound undrafted rookie out of USC appeared briefly in four games with the Golden State Warriors earlier this season, but went on to average 3.4 points and 4.5 rebounds in 11 games with the Philadelphia 76ers prior to NBA All-Star Weekend.

Dedmon was named to the NBDL All-Star Game after averaging 15.2 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 15 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors, Golden State's D-League affiliate, however he chose to rest instead of participate in the contest.

Following two 10-day contracts with the Sixers Dedmon hoped to sign a long-term deal, but no contract was offered after Thursday's trade deadline. The Magic were able to get a roster spot for Dedmon after negotiating a buyout of forward Glen Davis on Thursday.
