Jerry McDonald for the San Jose Mercury News reported on Friday that McFadden’s production will drive the Raiders’ offense. He has a good point because McFadden’s numbers have affected the outcome of Oakland’s games.
First of all, Darren McFadden has not been able to play a full season. The running back has been plagued with injuries every season he has played in the NFL.
However, when McFadden is involved and is producing numbers, the Raiders are producing wins.
For the sake of being a Raiders’ fan, hopefully McFadden will have full season this year and will be productive under the new running scheme that Coach Dennis Allen and Offensive Coordinator Greg Olson have in store.
According to the article, in the past, McFadden has rushed for 100 or more yards 12 times with Oakland, averaging 6.0 yards per carry with a total of 1,590 total yards. During those 12 times the Raiders have gone 10-2.
In the rest of the 68 games that McFadden didn’t gain 100 yards or didn’t play due to injury, the Raiders went 20-48.
Yes, these numbers do prove that Darren McFadden is a key player for the Silver and Black! So, the Raider Nation better pray that McFadden stays healthy throughout the season and adapts really well to the new running scheme that the Oakland Raiders are incorporating this season.
Just win baby!
