When All Else Fails…Worship The Tree

I know I cannot be the only one who is fed up with every single one of our heroes falling from grace after giving us so much hope. I am not talking about Jose Canseco, because no one in their right mind ever looked up to him. I am talking about the latest tragedy, Lance Armstrong, which absolutely pisses me off beyond belief. Partially because I just do not care and the other half because I cannot believe it actually came down to him admitting to Oprah Winfrey that he lied to all of us. Can we just have one reasonable person to look up to that has not rolled around in some sort of scandal to the point that they have to give back everything?

From Michael Phelps bonging it out to Carlos Ruiz getting suspended for adderall, I know that I am not the only one who has run out of hope for America’s youth. Of course, there are a slew of others that should make the list including everyone else associated with Major League Baseball, Joe Paterno and even Arnold Schwarzenegger a few years back. Can we just have one hero to look up to that does not end up getting tainted by the media or their own actions? For now, I am going to leave my opinions next to all those Livestrong bracelets and look up at the trees...350 million years and still standing tall.
