Why go to an amusement park and pay exorbitant prices when you can make an easy trip to your local park for free?
Wheaton Regional Park may not have the roller coasters, water rides, or even a castle; but it does offer amusement and recreation to both children and adults.
The recently build Adventure Playground is a playful adventure for both children and adults. The climbing mound, net and wall will make you feel like they are on top of the world. There are three slides in different sizes. And both young and old can take fight on the swings.
Children and adults will enjoy riding the miniature train and historical carousel. The train is a replica of the 1863 C.P. Huntington engine and passenger car. You get a view of the forest and meadows. Visitors wave when the train passes by. The Herschell Spillman 1915 carousel is an enchanting ride with horses, zebras, and chariots. Imagine being whisked off into the fields or above the clouds.
Visitors can celebrate joyous occasions such as birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries. To reserve space, contact the Park Permit Office.
Wheaton Regional Park was established in 1960 on 536 acres of land. To plan a visit to Wheaton Regional Park, visit the website at www.montgomeryparks.org.
