The carnival will feature the Radio Disney Road Crew!
The Wheaton Park District and Cosley Zoo will host a Fall Carnival on Friday, September 30 through Sunday October 2 at the Community Center parking lot, located at 1777 S. Blanchard Road in Wheaton, Illinois. The hours of the Carnival are as follows: September 30, 4-10:30 p.m.; October 1, noon-10:30p.m.; October 2, 1-8 p.m. Wristbands may be used for unlimited rides on Saturday, October 1 from noon-4:p.m. Wristbands purchased on October 1 will cost $15; however, wristbands may be purchased in advance September 1 through September 28 at the Community Center for only $12. A portion of all carnival proceeds will benefit the Wheaton Park District Leisureship Program, a scholarship program that provides recreation programming for those experiencing financial hardship.
The event will include carnival rides for all ages, concessions, games, hay rides, pumpkin sales and a chance to win prizes. On Saturday, October 1, from 1-2:30 p.m., The Radio Disney Road Crew will provide music, fun, prizes and a chance to win a Radio Disney prize pack including a Radio Disney T-Shirt, autographs from Disney Channel Stars and more!
Stop by the vendor row on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. The following vendores will be at the event: American Best Value Inn, Animal Medical Clinic, Blick Art Supply, Kidsnips, Lucky Latch & JuJu Gem, Mom.com, Salon 2, and Yogli Mogli. "I Have a Bean" will provide coffee on Saturday while supplies last.
The Wheaton Park District Leadership Program is a scholarship program that provides recreation programming for those experiencing financial hardship. So far, in 2011, 96 families have received leadership assistance for participation in a variety of recreational programs including: league sports, swimming lessons, summer camps and pre-school.
Stated a parent of a recipient of a Wheaton Park District Leisureship Program Scholarship, "The Wheaton Park District has been the only bright light in our family for the past year. So many times we have had to say no to our children because of financial difficulties, but with the Leisureship program we have been able to say yes you can do that."
