CPS Palmer Elementary which serves children from pre-school through 8th grade is located in Chicago, Il is not doing that great lately.
Seems the school is failing in reading and math subjects and the school district is recommending parents/guardians to look for alternative schools for next year.
Wow where did this come from?? Completely outta the blue
Palmer's principal Mr. Donald Anderson whom was the schools head honcho for the past three years has retired! What?? Yes January 4th 2013 was his last day as the main man. There is a letter that went out to everyone stating he had an opportunity to do something and so was retiring. Well now Palmer has no principal, the vice principal Mr. Marty Ryczek is the acting main man until the local school board votes on whom the next one will be. Don't know when that will be happening, of course the school council is looking for the best. So if there is anyone out there looking for a good career working with and loves lots of children why not give Palmer a call to see maybe you are what they are looking for. Palmer's number is 773-534-3704
Lastly the security guard at Palmer needs a different job. Kids will be fighting, bullying others etc and he does nothing.
Victoria arrived at the school to pick up her children, as she parked her vehicle noticed out the window her kids were running. These other children had been picking on them and them there was yelling, curse words which escalated to hitting and kicking. As Victoria ran down the sidewalk. She was trying to get inside the fenced area surronding the open field by the school to do something about what was happening. When she noticed the security guard was walking by did nothing, said nothing. Victoria on the other hand spoke up why don't you do your job. He looked at her like what did you say to me. This mother did not have time to stop and argue with this individual. He has a very bad attitude and should not be working with children.
This incident is just one of quite a few that has happened.
Palmer is a good school but somethings need to change. Everyone working together can make the school better.
