'The Good Wife' takes a shocking turn

WARNING: If you are on the west coast or have not yet watched tonight's episode of The Good Wife, do not read any further. A huge plot development that affects the entire rest of the series will be discussed. Last warning, do NOT read any further if you do not want to be spoiled about these events.

Tonight's episode centered around the continuing investigation into the voter fraud committed in the gubernatorial race and the murder trial of Jeffrey Grant (Hunter Parrish), a client Will (Josh Charles) stole from Alicia (Julianna Margulies) earlier in the season. Throughout the episode, Grant clearly starts to lose his sanity, but with late developments in trial, no one notices. Well, except Will, and by then it's too late because Grant grabs a gun off a court officer and starts shooting, by the end? Will and the prosecutor are both shot and Will is dead.

Per Deadline, Josh Charles actually approached show runners Michelle and Robert King about leaving the series last year, but Julianna Margulies talked him into returning for part of this season, allowing the writers to go big with his exit. And big it was. Were you surprised?
