The Love Dog animal therapy team visited the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) over two days this week for our second visit. The event was hosted by the Lied Library on campus and encouraged students and faculty to come visit with the dogs to relieve the pressures and stresses of final exam week.
The event is always so successful that is has become a twice-annual gathering and over a thousand students come by to greet the dogs and handlers. Not only does petting a calm dog lower one's blood pressure and steady heart rates, it is fuel for the soul. Students came into the room tired and stressed and frustrated, but soon all we saw were smiles!. Great joy filled the room as our nine dog teams did their thing.
The Lied Library staff did an exceptional job coordinating the event and it is one of the Love Dogs' favorite events!
Here is just some of the feedback we received form students:
I've been here 3 years and this has been the most productive 15 minutes I've spent in the library!
I would be lying if I said I wasn't waiting all semester for this
Best day at UNLV ever
I walked in so stressed out. Now I am leaving feeling calm and ready to finish the term
I'm just a Freshman and finals/study week is so stressful,. Thank you for the dogs. Gotta love them.
Thank you so much for bringing the dogs back. You made my day.
Dogs are the best. I've been to this event twice and I was stress-free instantly!
