From Alexander Wang to Marc Jacobs to Catherine Malandrino... black & white has appeared on many Spring 2013 runways. The cool thing about this trend is, it actually isn't a trend at all. It's one of the most classic looks one can rock. And what's REALLY great about it, is that ANYONE can wear it. It's not like the stuff you see on the runway that leaves you shaking your head and thinking, 'Where the heck would anyone ever wear that??'
Black & white can take you from the office, to the mall, to the interview, to date night, and everywhere else in between. Black & white can be flattering on everyone.
When in doubt, stick to smaller black & white patterns, rather than large graphics. While large graphic shapes are also a Spring 2013 trend, it's a little bit trickier to pull off, so proceed with caution.
Depending on your own personal style, you might be thinking, 'Black & white is a bit on the BORING side.' Well, then add a punch of color. Nothing pops more than a vibrant blast of color against a black & white canvas. Think yellow, red, orange, cobalt blue, turquoise, or hot pink accents. Jewelry, shoes, purses, glasses, and hats are all ways to add an exclamation point to your favorite black & white ensemble.
