Whether you are a singer of traditional, contemporary or a quartet group, the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards is for you. Choirs are also encouraged to attend this event. In addition to singing, this award show features praise dance ministries, workshops with experienced instructors and nightly events that showcases new artists.
This year the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards will host its 16th year of celebration. Co-host and presenter of this event is none other than Stellar Award Winner, Earnest Pugh. Other recording artist that will be available for question and answer sessions are Keith Williams, Gail Fly, Cassandra Jones, and Chester Baldwin.
The Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards was founded by Navy Veteran Pastor Larry and his wife, First Lady Davies 16 years ago. The founders thought of the award show as a way to acknowledge the talents of local artists. Larry Davies states that the TGMEA is a great marketing tool offering a stage opportunity and wonderful exposure for artist involved in ministry.
New artist attending this event will not only have the ability to showcase their talents, but will also be able to meet radio announcers and other media outlets to assists them in excelling nationally or even globally with their ministry. Camina Barnett from Heaven 97, E.J. Strong, Yvonne Mitchell, Mamma Curtis are among some of the well-known personalities that artists can meet during this event.
