What to Do: Shaker Village HarvestFest and Louisville Homeschoolers

This weekend, Sept. 28-29, Louisville homeschoolers may want to take a family drive to Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill for their HarvestFest from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost is $15 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 6-12, and FREE for kids 5 and under.

Activities and events included with the admission cost consist of:

• Live Music on the Main Stage
• Located in the Kids’ Village: Farm Olympics, Hay Climbs, Bob for Apples, Balloon Animals, Arts & Crafts & More
• Meet the Farm Animals & Sheep Shearing
• Milk Kentucky Kate
• Apple Orchard Activities
• Honey Bee Demonstrations & Glass Blowing Demonstrations
• Sorghum Making
• Shaker Village Quilt Exhibition

Pony rides are also available for $2/person. In addition, guests can take part in the scrumptious Pig Roast or choose the perfect pumpkin ($4) for fall decoration. Dixie Belle River Boat Rides are also available (Free-$10, depending on guest's age), as well as horse-drawn wagon rides ($6/person). The Market consists of sweet honey, breads, jams, fruits, and more, and there is a Best Autumn Dessert Contest for those with an especially sweet tooth.
