High-tech gadgets, money and nice cars are the gods of life now days and seem to be the only reality surrounding us. Kids are disobedient to their parents beyond measures, every boy wants to be a pimp and rap star and every girl seeks to imitate idols such as Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian. The world is full of violence and foul language, people hate each other and show no mercy or forgiveness, yet we are the most tolerate generation? Up is down and down is up, but that’s ok because we know everything. “Because My people have forgotten Me, They have burned incense to worthless idols. And they have caused themselves to stumble in their ways. From the ancient paths, To walk in pathways and not on a highway.” (Jeremiah 18:15). These are the thoughts and outcome of our generation, but we do not see any problems except when it comes to God. “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.” (Psalms 14:1).
The one thing that this generation is disregarding completely is the one thing they need most: God. “The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good. No, not one.” (Psalms 14:2,3). This generation believes they have become too superior for God and that science has proven there is no God, yet no proof has ever been shown. They believe everything and everybody should be tolerated unless you believe in the Lord, then they might as well burn you at the stake. They believe they know all things and are far more advanced than our ignorant God believing ancients, yet we cannot even replicate some of their structures that are thought to be built with stone tools.
This generation needs God more than anything else. With God at the center of the world, the world then would be a much better place; filled with true love, forgiveness and mercy. There would be true understanding when bad things occur; knowing that this is a fallen world and our true place of rest is with the Lord in eternity. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:7). This generation needs to put away foolishness and take a hold of true knowledge, wisdom and understanding, “For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:6).
When this generation puts away their idols and their pride and instead put their trust in the Lord, then that is when we will start to see true love, equality, and miracles. “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil.” (Isaiah 1:16). When we come before God and ask for forgiveness, trusting in Him and the Messiah Jesus, He then cleanses us and fills us with His Spirit and enables us to accomplish more than we could have ever imagined. The Lord is higher than us and we must humble ourselves before Him, for when we do, He then speaks His knowledge and wisdom into our hearts and minds. “Let the wicked forsake His way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. ‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.’” (Isaiah 55:7-9).
